The Tuileries Conservatory for Confectionery Curiosities

Resin, insects, glass, steel, porcelain
9’ x 5’

A tower of ornate, jewel-like confections are crowded together resembling the fantastical spires and geometries of the skyline of an advanced civilization. However, closer inspection reveals the desserts--melting, moldering and covered with insects--are more reminiscent of a decadent society in decline. This piece is a collaboration with Mark Dion.
